Imerys

Imerys is a French mining group headquartered in Paris. He has worked in the mining and production of building materials. Imerys produces, among other kaolinite, perlite, diatomite, graphite, corundum and calcium carbonate.

The company was founded in 1880 by the Rothschild family and was for many years the company name IMETAL. At that time the Rothschild family brought some of their many subsidiaries in the field of mining ( extraction of mineral resources ) together under one roof. From 1961 until his death in 2007, Guy de Rothschild, a member of the Supervisory Board. The seat of his son Édouard de Rothschild ( b. 1957 ) to 2005, by his wife Arielle Malard de Rothschild ( born 1963 ) was taken.

In 1999, the British company English China Clays was acquired and the name of the whole company at Imerys changed. In 2005, Imerys from the U.S. company Allegheny Technologies subsidiary World Minerals.

Imerys is 57% owned by the controlled Pargesa Holding Groupe Bruxelles Lambert.
