Immanuel McElroy

Immanuel McElroy ( born March 25, 1980 in Galveston, Texas ) is an American professional basketball player. McElroy is 1,94 m tall and plays at the position of shooting guards, but can also be variable switch to small forward or point guard. Since February 2008, he played for Alba Berlin after he had played four years for the Cologne 99ers. Currently he is at the New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig under contract.

In the season 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 respectively, he was honored as Defensive Player of the Year. With the Cologne 99ers McElroy won the 2006 German Championship. In 2008 he was able to repeat this success with Alba Berlin. He also won the German Cup three times (2005, 2007, 2009 ) and was elected several times into the BBL All Star Game. Alba is the only player McElroy was elected to the All- Eurocup First Team of the season 2009/10, after he had advanced to the finals with Alba this competition. This meant the biggest international success since Korać Cup win in 1995 and McElroy's best result in a European competition for the club. After the season 2009/10 he extended his contract with Alba for another year.

For the 2011/2012 season he moved within the League to the New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig. There he was given a contract until 2013.
