Imperial Wharf station is a stop on the West London Line and is operated by London Overground, which can also stop their train running the WLL here. In addition, keep still trains the Southern. It is located between the stations of West Brompton and Clapham Junction near the River Thames on the border of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

History

Plans for a station at this point already existed since 1993, but the final funding was secured in April 2008 after the cost was estimated at £ 3 million in 2005. The costs took over St. George, the planner of the adjacent luxury apartment complex, which served as a namesake for the station. In the project phase, the station was also the name of the nearby Chelsea Harbour. Construction began in late July 2008.

After the opening of the station was planned for 2009, which opened in 2010, was terminated after construction delays. However, the station was put into operation on 29 September 2009.

Operation

  • 2x per hour: Willesden Junction - Imperial Wharf - Clapham Junction ( London Overground )
  • 1x per hour: Milton Keynes Central - Watford Junction - Imperial Wharf - Clapham Junction - East Croydon (Southern)

Future

  • 2025 the railway Chelsea - Hackney also have a breakpoint in the Imperial Wharf area, but this should get the name of King's Road. Despite the different name change junctions is planned.
  • In the long run the London Overground run every quarter hour and WLL train route to be linked with that of the railway Gospel Oak - Barking, although construction work in Gospel Oak are provided.
