Impossible Pictures

Impossible Pictures Limited is a British television production company.

History

The company was founded in 2002 by Tim Haines and Jasper James. Both previously worked at the BBC. As part of the BBC produced the two, including the successful dinosaur trilogy with dinosaurs - In the Realm of the Giants, The heirs of the dinosaurs and the ancestors of the dinosaurs.

After several BBC productions about Prehistoric Life, Tim Haines decided to start their own independent company in 2002 - Impossible Pictures.

Now they produced docu-dramas such as Prehistoric Park - extinction was yesterday or Perfect Disaster. With Primeval finally produced their first TV series, which consists entirely of drama. In addition to TV programs, she also produced such films as " The Lost World" ( " The Lost World " ), which was filmed shortly after "Walking with Dinosaurs ", or ITV's "Frankenstein".

Over time, not only their genre, but also the transmitter changed with which they worked. So they produced initially only for the BBC. Later they made with Discovery Channel broadcasts. Currently (2010) they work for ITV and produced thereby Prehistoric Park and Primeval. Most of their productions were co- financed by the German broadcaster ProSieben. From the beginning, there was a collaboration for the visual effects with Framestore, who also produced the effects in Jurassic Park.

Logo

Initially used Tim for his productions infrared images of animals as a logo. In "Walking with Dinosaurs " it was a T -Rex hatchling and in "Walking with Beasts " a Smilodon. Since the foundation was then a man holding a picture frame diagonally in front of the face, used as a logo. In the picture frame a suitable image was calculated for each episode of a program purely set, then what looked as if, for example, the creature from the picture come out.
