Perfect Disaster

Perfect Disaster - When nature runs amok is a produced by the BBC in 2006 mini- series in the style of a fictional documentation that a worst-case scenario plays out in every episode in a possible natural disaster. Here, in each episode a different scenario is treated. To introduce the everyday life of ordinary people is shown in each case, while there is already announcing the disaster. In between come experts to word also describes a spokesman for the events surrounding the disaster. This big cities are in all the episodes affected on earth from the effects of extreme weather events and their consequences. In Germany Perfect Disaster will be aired on ProSieben.

Episodes

  • Super Tornado: In Dallas, Texas hurtling to a tornado of strength F5 on the Fujita scale. It is described that this is the most likely of all disaster scenarios shown.
  • Solar Storm: In 2011, the Earth is threatened by a solar storm. In the episode, the actions of the metropolis of New York City are portrayed. A solar storm would wipe out all electricity on earth, as it would destroy all the transformers.
  • Firestorm: Sydney, Australia is threatened by a huge fire.
  • Typhoon: A huge typhoon in the western Pacific threatens the city of Hong Kong.
  • Mega Flood: A huge tidal wave threatens the British capital London.
  • Ice Storm: Montreal, Canada is hit by an ice storm. Under the weight of ice and snow the electricity pylons threaten to break.

Other scenarios are in the planning stage.

In each of these episodes the most horrible scenario is described, that could happen as a result of such a catastrophe. Each disaster experts and computers was played. Produced by Impossible Pictures series that in 1999 already produced the documentary series Walking with Dinosaurs for the BBC. The computer animations are from Gareth Edwards (Super Tornado and solar storm ); Lola (fire storm and ice storm ) and Red Vision ( Mega flood and typhoon ). In the UK, the series will be broadcast by the BBC in the United States from the Discovery Channel.

On 1 June 2007 appeared in Germany a box set of 3 DVDs containing all previous episodes.
