Independent Women is a song by American girl group Destiny 's Child. It was written by Beyoncé for her third studio album Survivor and produced. The song first appeared on the soundtrack to the 2000 film Charlie's Angels 3. At Independent Women sang for the first time Michelle Williams as a member of Destiny's Child.

The original name was the song Indepedent Women Part Two, Indepedent Woman Part One was originally a Pasadena remix, so the song in Indepedent Women was renamed.

But both versions were released on the soundtrack to the film and on the album. The song reached the 1st place in the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for a mere 11 weeks from November 2000 to February 2001 in bulk. Britain both versions of the songs were released on the same day.

The Director in the music video led Francis Lawrence, at the end of the video parody the girls in scenes from the movie.

Background

The song is get number 85 in the list of 100 best British songs of all time, published in May 2002.

Commercial success

Indepedent Woman was a huge hit in the USA. The single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, which they were able to keep a mere 11 weeks. It was thus already the third number -one hit of the girl group in the United States. The song had a big airplay, as it was often played by American radio, making the song stayed at # 1 in the airplay charts for 10 weeks also ..

In the UK Indepedent Woman debuted at number 1 and became their second number - one hit in the UK. The British Phonographic Industry, the single with Gold Award for 400,000 sales. It also won first place in Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.
