Infamous (video game)

Infamous ( correct spelling inFAMOUS ) is an action video game for the Playstation 3 and was developed by Sucker Punch Productions and is distributed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was published in the May / June 2009. The name comes from the English words " Famous" ( = famous) and " Infamous " ( = infamous) together, as the main character can act as a good or evil character.

Action

The player controls the protagonist Cole MacGrath, a bike messenger. This is the beginning of the game in the center of a huge explosion that destroyed several road sections of the fictional town of Empire City. The explosion caused chaos throughout the city, while Cole has suddenly electric superpowers. During the course of the game, in which Cole uses his new abilities to restore order in the city, the player the choice is left, whether he uses these powers within the meaning of the Community, or for their own selfish purposes. These decisions have an impact on the character, his environment and to other storylines.

Criticism

The game was well received by the gaming press. In particular, the special forces and Coles climbing skills were praised. On Metacritic, it received a score of 85 out of 100

Continuations

Infamous 2 is the sequel to the first part. The plot follows on from the first part. Depending on whether you have played through the first part of good or evil, you can choose to start the game, which end starting you would like to continue the second part.

In March 2014 was the third part of Infamous: Second Son released for PlayStation 4. The plot is separated from the previous parts. The main character Delsin has the ability to absorb other forces. Again you can collect good or evil karma.
