Infanta Adelgundes, Duchess of Guimarães

Adelgunde de Bragança (Portuguese: Dona Aldegundes de Jesus Maria Francisca de Assis e de Paula Adelaide Eulalia Carlota Leopoldina Micaela Rafaela Gabriela Gonzaga Inês Isabel Avelina Ana Sofia Estanislau Bernardina de Bragança ) ( born November 10, 1858 in Bronnbach on the Tauber; † 15 April 1946 in Bern ) was Duchess of Guimarães, a Infanta of Portugal.

Life

Adelgunde was the daughter of King Michael I of Portugal and his wife Princess Adelaide of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg.

On October 15, 1876, she married the Prince of Parma Henri di Bourbon, a son of Duke Charles III. Parma and the French Princess Louise Marie Thérèse de Bourbon -Artois, in Salzburg, Austria. The marriage of the two had no offspring. Adelgunde but had nine miscarriages.

Adelgunde spent her remaining years in Bern, Switzerland, where she died on 15 April 1946 and 87 years.
