Attorney Paul Stanton and his wife Diane have a daughter ( Chloe ) who urgently needs a donor lung. Chloe is already on the waiting list for a suitable donor lung. Her condition continues to deteriorate, so the time is very short. Paul learns by chance that his colleague James Harrison was on the list for a donor heart seven years ago. He was removed from the list. This happens only if you get a heart or dies. Harrison has never officially received a heart. Paul makes some inquiries and Harrison finally speaks directly to. At first, Harrison denies everything. Paul also asks and obtains the name of Harrison Dr. Novarro. Further information and contact name has not alleged Harrison.

Paul flying to El Paso order to make the search for Dr. Novarro. He must be, to deal there with the crime and the gangs that belong there on the agenda. In a roundabout way, he learns that a Dr. Novarro not exist at all. After an odyssey in Juárez, Paul sees faced with the cruel truth: the organs for transplants come from donors not, but involuntary victims. Paul is faced with the decision whether he saves his daughter's life or an innocent boy dies for it. The end of the film shows the funeral of his daughter Chloe.
