Innisidgen

The input graves Innisidgen Upper and Lower Innisidgen are Dolmen from the Bronze Age (2500-750 BC), the Isles of Scilly, which lie as some 100 other monuments on the hilltops and plateaus.

Innisidgen

Innisidgen Upper

Innisidgen Upper or Innisidgen Carn, is one of the best preserved tombs entrance to the Scilly. The oval mound measures about nine to eight meters and is about two feet high. A short, open transition region leads to the entrance on the east side, which is covered by a massive fall. Four deck stones form the roof of the rectangular 4.5 m long and 1.5 m high chamber.

Innisidgen Lower

The more damaged Lower Innisidgen located 90 meters northwest and has retained only two of his deck stones and some curbs. The hill itself contains boulders. Access to the chamber is located on the south side. A prehistoric field system survives on the northern slope of the hill next to the plants. The close pairing of the monuments of the cultural landscape is a feature of the Isles of Scilly.

Context

Input graves (also called " Scillonian Entrance Grave" or " West County tomb " called ) are a megalithic construction, the channel and can be found except on the Isles of Scilly in Cornwall, on the in County Waterford.
