Intermission (Stratovarius album)

Intermission is a published on 26 June 2001 music album by the Finnish band Stratovarius. It represents a compilation of various songs that were previously released as bonus tracks, B-sides and live recordings.

The title " Intermission " means in English a transmission pause and refers to the fact that the band had announced an extended hiatus after touring for the last album " Infinite ".

Origin and meaning of the songs

• " Will My Soul Ever Rest In Peace? " And " Falling Into Fantasy " are two specially composed for the album and rehearsed songs.
• "The Curtains Are Falling " was simultaneously recorded with the " Infinite " album, but neither there nor published elsewhere.
• "Requiem" is also previously unreleased, it involves a live used as a concert intro song.
• "Blood Stone", a cover version of Judas Priest, appeared on a tribute album.
• " Kill the King" is a cover of Rainbow and also appeared on a tribute album as well as the B - side of " Father Time " single. This song is sung by guitarist Timo Tolkki.
• " I Surrender " is a live recorded cover version of the song by Rainbow (composed by Russ Ballard ), which was unpublished before.
• "Keep the Flame" was a bonus track on the Japanese edition of " Father Time " single.
