International Boxing Organization

The International Boxing Organization ( IBO ) is a Boxorganisation that aligns official fights and gives the IBO world champion in professional boxing and is based in Coral Gables, Florida (USA).

The IBO is a rather insignificant, small organization in relation to the four major and internationally recognized organizations WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF. Wladimir Klitschko is currently the only boxer world- the holder of a title of the IBO.

The IBO bought the independent computer rankings IWBR, but never made it to capitalize on it. However, they had several boxers as champions who were counted in the independent rankings as the number one, even though they held no title of the other world organizations at the time. A prominent example was Antonio Tarver Jr. linear world champion after his victory over Roy Jones and as "real heavyweight champion " was until he lost to Hopkins.
