International Jugglers' Association

The International Jugglers ' Association ( IJA ) was founded in 1947 and is the oldest and largest organization of jugglers. We have members from all over the world.

Conventions and competitions

The IJA organized the largest week-long juggling convention in North America, the IJA festival. The biggest juggling convention in the world is the European Juggling Convention, which was founded in the late 70s by the IJA.

The IJA festival takes place every year in a different city in North America in mid to late July instead. Apart from the competitions, there are also shows featuring professional artists who are open to the public. Similarly, there are a variety of workshops.

The IJA Stage Championships are awarded the official world championships in juggling which medals and prize money for participating jugglers. These competitions are held during the IJA festival. There are three categories of IJA Stage Championships: Individuals ( individual participants ), teams ( two or more participants per team ) and Juniors ( individual participants up to 17 years ). The first three places in each category will receive medals and cash prizes.

The Numbers Championships awarded gold, silver and bronze medals to the participants who can juggle the longest, most balls, clubs or rings. Quote this competition in three categories instead: single, duo and trio. The current IJA records are available on the IJA website. Since 2006 there is also prize money for each winner of a competition Numbers and an extra price for every one existing IJA record breaking.

Other competitions during the annual IJA festival are the Individual Prop Competition, the Extreme Juggling Competition and the World Championships joggling and other traditional juggling games.

History

The IJA has the magazines Jugglers ' World and JUGGLE published. JUGGLE is the current print magazine of the IJA.

In addition to JUGGLE produces the IJA also a monthly e-newsletter with news on the IJA, technical papers, and global news for juggling.
