International Paper

International Paper ( IP) is a US-based company with headquarters in Memphis. The company is listed on the stock index S & P 500 on the New York Stock Exchange.

International Paper is the world's largest packaging manufacturers and private owners of timber extraction areas in the United States.

The company employs approximately 60,600 employees (as of 2006)

International Paper was written in 1898 by the merger of 17 pulp and paper plants in the northeastern United States.

International Paper acquired the company in 1986 Hammermill Paper Company and 1988, the company Masonite Corporation. 1989 International Paper bought the German company Zanders fine papers and the French paper manufacturer Aussedat Rey.
