Ioanna Karystiani (Greek Ιωάννα Καρυστιάνη; born September 8, 1952, in Chania, Crete ) is a Greek writer and winner of the Greek State Prize for Literature.

Life

Ioanna Karystiani was born in 1952 in Chania on Crete as a child in Asia Minor refugees. She studied law and worked as a cartoonist, among other things for the Greek communist newspaper Rizospastis (Greek Ριζοσπάστης ) and the magazines " Tetarto ", " Ena " and " Eikones ". Even as a screenwriter she made herself a name in Greece. In the nineties, she was active as a writer.
