Iran Khodro

Iran Khodro ( IKCO ) is the largest automobile manufacturer in Iran. خودرو ( Chodro ) means car in German.

It is a state- owned company which was established on 18 August 1962 in Tehran by Ahmad and Mahmoud Khayami. Before the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the company was known as the Iran National. The biggest success was Iran Khodro in the course of its 40 -year history with the middle class car Paykan. Its production, however, is set for May 2005.

Today manufactures Iran Khodro different vehicles, including license production and in-house developments:

  • Dena ( provided from 2012 as the successor of Samand )
  • Peugeot 206 and 206 SD ( sedan variant)
  • Runna ( based on the Peugeot 206, a hybrid car 's version of this is in preparation)
  • Peugeot 207
  • Peugeot 405 and the Peugeot derived Roa ( rear wheel drive )
  • Peugeot Pars ( based on the Peugeot 405 )
  • Suzuki Grand Vitara
  • Tondar 90 ( on the Dacia Logan -based)
  • Bardo ( pick-up based on the previous Paykan / Hillman Hunter)

In addition, Iran Khodro provides with various subsidiaries trucks in license- forth, such as various trucks and buses from Mercedes- Benz ( Actros and Sprinter ), Hyundai ( Mighty models and chorus ) and MAN.
