Irene Pivetti

Irene Pivetti ( born April 4, 1963 in Milan ) is an Italian politician of the Lega Nord, journalist and presenter.

Life

Pivetti studied literature and philosophy at the Università Cattolica di Milano. After graduating she was first in the publishing industry for the care of the Italian edition of the " Grande Dizionario della lingua Italiano " ( "big dictionary of the Italians " ) her nephew Paolo Gabrielli (* 1971) works. Furthermore Pivetti worked for several newspapers such as " l' Indipendente " or " l' Italia settimanale ". It is especially active in the social and cultural area of some Catholic organizations such as the right-wing Northern League party, where she held the office for Catholic and Social Affairs. At the age of 25, she married a fellow student, the marriage failed, however, and they separated after two years of her husband. From 1994 to 1996 she was as successor by Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Camera dei deputati.

Television career

After her retirement from the Italian Parliament she has worked as an author, journalist and presenter in different shows of Italian television. So she hosted from 2002 to 2003 programs of the private television channel La7 as the talk show " la cosa Fà giusta " ( " Do the right thing " ) or " La giuria " ("the Juri ").

In addition, she was awarded in 2004 an "Oscar della televisione " ( TV Oscar) and was in some programs such as " Bisturi! Nessuno è perfetto " ( " Bisturi! Nobody's perfect ") and" Giallo 1 " to see. In 2005 Pivetti had an appearance in Maurizio Costanzo's "Buona Domenica " ( " Good Friday " ) and hosted a weekly political talk show on Rete 4 " Liberi tutti". Since 2008, she has also worked as a commentator on current issues and since 2009 editor of the " Web-To- Be Free " Internet protocol television network.
