Irina Emeliantseva

Irina Emeliantseva (Russian Ирина Александровна Емельянцева, Irina Alexandrovna Emeljanzewa; born September 26, 1973 in Selzo, Bryansk Oblast, Soviet Union) is a Russian composer and pianist.

In the years 1988-1992 she studied piano at music college of her hometown, where she received an award at the Regional Piano Competition for the best interpretation of Prokofiev's works.

From 1992 to 1997 studied composition with Sergei Mikhailovich Irina Emeliantseva Slonimsky and piano with Eismon the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. Subsequently, she worked as an assistant in the composition class of Prof. Slonimsky. In 1999, the Aspiranturabschluss followed. From 1996 to 1999 she attended master classes in Germany, Russia and Ukraine. At festivals and concerts played Irina Emeliantseva numerous premieres and Russian premieres of compositions by Dittrich, Messiaen, Roslawez, Lutosławski, Humel, and others, as well as his own works.

In 1995 she was awarded the Gartow Foundation in Germany for young composers 1996 prize for composition at Sound Ways Festival in Saint Petersburg. A DAAD scholarship composition led in 1999 to Germany, where they at at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin Prof. P.-H. Dittrich studied. In 2000, Irina Emeliantseva was a fellow of the Berlin Senate at the Music Academy Rheinberg. The next composition studies were carried out in the years 2002-2003, with Hanspeter Kyburz in Berlin, then at Ernst Helmuth Flammer in Dresden. 2002/2003 was Irina Emeliantseva NaFöG scholarship from the University of Arts in Berlin. In 2002 she had a residency at the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf the Cultural Fund Foundation, and in 2003 a residency at the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop.

In 2007, Irina Emeliantseva composer was in residence ( composer at the place) on Künstlerhof Schreyahn (funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture). Irina Emeliantseva has received commissions from the Berlin Senate Administration for Science, Research and Culture ( " color variations " by Henri Matisse ) and by the European Music Festival young.euro.classic summer Berlin ( " light splitter " for violin and piano).

She also performs as a pianist and sees its role in the dissemination of contemporary piano music.
