Irina Kirillova

Irina Vladimirovna Kirillowa (Russian Ирина Владимировна Кириллова, formerly Irina Parchomtschuk ( Ирина Пархомчук ); born May 15, 1965 in Tula ) is a Russian volleyball player.

Life

Irina Kirillowa is considered the superior setter of the 1980s and 1990s. She was known for her feints and the then unusual backcourt attacks with Irina Smirnova and their unpredictable, fast style.

Kirillowa won the gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and gold at the World Championships in 1990 in Beijing, where she was voted most valuable player. In addition, she won gold at the European Championships in 1985 in the Netherlands.

Mid-1990s, she moved to the Croatian national team at the World Championships, the Croatian team reached the fourth place.

In the Italian League Kirillowa won between 1996 and 2003 all the national title. Ever since she was a co- trainer and interpreter of the Italian coach of the Russian national team.

In 2009 she was with the VK League Dynamo Moscow Russian champion and second in volleyball champions. She was elected with 44 years as the best setter of the league because of their impressive performance.

2009/10 played Irina Kirillowa in Italy Asystel Novara.
