Irina Mushailova

Irina Muschailowa (Russian Ирина Мушаилова; born January 6, 1967 in Krasnodar ) is a former Russian athlete who mainly took the long jump.

Life

She took part in Barcelona for the United team at the 1992 Olympics. There, she won with a width of 6.68 m to fifth place. In 1993 she won at the Russian Indoor Championships in the long jump with a personal best of 6.94 m. Shortly after, she reached at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto with 6.76 m in fourth place and was merely an inch past the bronze medal.

1994 Muschailowa was outdoors Russian champion in the long jump, also a new personal best of 7.20 m. In the following European Championships in Helsinki, she was 6.62 m Seventh. However, their most successful season they had in 1995. At the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona, she won the bronze medal with 6.90 meters behind her compatriot Lyudmila Galkina (6.95 m). Even outdoors, at the World Championships in Gothenburg Muschailowa was successful. There they secured the bronze medal with 6.83 meters behind the Italian Fiona May (6.98 m) and the Cuban Niurka Montalvo ( 6.86 m).

Irina Muschailowa is 1,64 m tall and had a competition weight of 56 kg. They competed for Dynamo Krasnodar.
