Irina Petrescu

Carmen Irina Petrescu (born 19 June 1941 in Bucharest, † March 19, 2013 ibid ) was a Romanian actress.

Life

Carmen Irina Petrescu was born as the daughter of a doctor and a nurse in Bucharest. Originally Petrescu wanted her puppy love following study architecture, but her parents were against it. They wanted that she should study philology and French. However, since they did not pass the entrance exam and was discovered by the Romanian director Savel Stiopul on one of her vocal performances in a restaurant, she began studying at the prestigious National University of Theatre and Film Arts " Ion Luca Caragiale " in Bucharest. During her studies, she had her successful 1960 film debut in Liviu Ciuleis The Danube burns and starred in such films as I do not want to get married (1961) and The Stranger on the shore ( 1962). For her role in Mihai of Jacob The Stranger (1963 ), she received the Best Actor Award for the national film festivals in Mamaia. In history of my stupidity under the direction of Hungary Márton Keleti Petrescu played for the first time in a foreign film production. From 1964, she was at the Bucharest National Theatre, committed in the 1970s and 1980s on Teatrul Bulandra.

Petrescu was never married in their lives. She died of cancer.
