Irish general election, 2007

The elections to Dáil Éireann in 2007 took place on 24 May 2007. Determined were the members of the 30th Dáil.

Results for 2007

The Fianna Fáil party of Prime Minister Bertie Ahern has dominated the elections. According to the preliminary results, it was 41.6 percent of the vote ( First Preference Votes ) strongest and had 78 of the 166 seats held in the 30th Dáil. Your current coalition partner, the Progressive Democrats, but lost six of their eight seats ( the Progressive Democrats were resolved on 8 November 2008). The previous coalition decreed thus no longer has a majority in the House. Since June 2007, Fianna Fáil formed, along with the Green Party and (until November 2008), the Progressive Democrats, a coalition government.

The Socialist Party withdrew from the Dáil.
