Irving Pichel

Irving Pichel (* June 24, 1891 in Pittsburgh, † July 13, 1954 in Hollywood ) was an American actor and film director.

Life

Irving Pichel studied at Harvard University and was until 1930 the spectacle. In 1932 he turned to Count Zaroff - Genie of evil his first film co-directed by Ernest B. Schoedsack. From the 1940s he was then working exclusively as a director and only appeared in small roles on his own film. He also served as spokesperson for the radio and was narrated in John Ford's films, How Green Was My Valley and listen to The Devil captain. For his film Destination Moon was at the Berlinale in 1951 the Bronze Bear. Pichel was married Violette Wilson, sister of actress Viola Barry and daughter of the former mayor of Berkeley.
