Battle of Midway is an American documentary from the year 1942.

Action

On 4 June 1942, the Battle of Midway began, a carrier battle, in which the U.S. Navy was able to fend off the attack of the Japanese Navy successfully to the Midway Islands.

Director John Ford was as director of Field Photo Unit aboard one of the U.S. ships. His camera people took to the Japanese attack, the defense of the U.S. Navy, the search for survivors and the impact of the battle.

Producer and director John Ford, who was wounded during the shooting, produced the film, together with the U.S. Navy. The hire took over 20th Century Fox.

Speaker of the film were the Hollywood actresses Jane Darwell, Donald Crisp, Irving Pichel and Henry Fonda, who was involved in the same war film directed by Jack Smight 1976.
