Isaach de Bankolé

Isaac de Bankole ( born August 12, 1957 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) is an Ivorian actor.

Life and career

De Bankole has a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Paris. He completed his training as an actor at the Cours Simon. In 1984 he had his first small film role in the settlement. The breakthrough came two years later with Black Mic Mac. For his performance in this work de Bankole was awarded the César Award for Best Young Actor. Other well-known films in which he starred, Jim Jarmusch's Ghost Dog are - The way of the samurai with Forest Whitaker and Coffee and Cigarettes with Roberto Benigni and Bill Murray, The Limits of Control and Manderlay by Lars von Trier.

De Bankole is married to jazz singer Cassandra Wilson.
