Islero

Islero (* unknown, † 1947 ) was a fighting bull from the breeding of Ganadería Miura near Seville, impaling the Spanish bullfighter Manolete on August 28, 1947, who died as a result.

Islero unknown date was born. His father was the bull Formalito, his mother the cow Islera. Islero weighed 495 kg and was in the arena of Linares, a city in the province of Jaen in Andalusia, the fifth bull of the day and the second, competing against Manolete. Although the Miurastiere are considered particularly dangerous, Manolete grabbed the animal directly on the horns of, rather than the safe route from the side to choose. Manolete had him already pushed his sword into the body, as Islero the Torero let out a horn in the right thigh. Before Islero died, he tried to spear the wounded Manolete several more times. The man died the following night despite medical care in the first aid room of the bullring.
