ISO 3166-2:US

The list of ISO 3166-2 codes for the United States contains the codes for the 50 states and the District of Columbia and six outdoor areas.

The codes are composed of two parts which are separated by a hyphen. The first part is the country code according to ISO 3166-1 ( for United States U.S. ), the second the code for the states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories outside again. The current country code has not been updated since the publication in 1998.

These consist of two letters and except for American Pacific (US- UM ) comply with the Adressierkürzeln the U.S. Post Office ( United States Postal Service ).
