Istor -o -Nal is the third highest mountain in the Hindu Kush. The name is used, however, for an entire mountain range with eleven individual peaks over 7,000 meters. The Istor -o -Nal is situated in Chitral, Pakistan, near the Tirich Mir. " Istoro Nal " means " horse shoe " in the Khowar language. " Istor " means " horse". The origin of the name is unknown.
