István Nagy (athlete)

István Nagy ( born April 28, 1959 in Heves, Heves County ) is a former Hungarian sprinter.

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, he reached the quarterfinals of over 200 m. About 100 m and the 4 x 100 - meter relay team he left in the flow. In 1981 he won the silver medal at the Universiade about 200 m.

In 1982, he won the 200m silver at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Milan and was fifth at the European Athletics Championships in Athens. The following year, he won the 200m bronze at the European Indoor Championships 1983 in Budapest. At the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki, he retired about 200 m from the quarter-finals and in the 4 x 100 meters relay semi-finals.

In 1985 he was at the European Indoor Championships in 1985 in Piraeus fifth over 200 m. In the World Cup 1987 in Rome he came over 200m semi-finals and finished with the Hungarian team in the 4 x 100 - meter relay to sixth place.

Twice he was Hungarian champion over 100 m (1978, 1982) and five times over 200 m (1977, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985). In the hall he was twice national champion in the 60 m (1980, 1982) and four times more than 200 m (1982, 1985-1987).
