Action
The attractive widow Jane Osgood is trying to earn a livelihood for themselves and their children Billy and Betty as a breeder of a lobster in Cape Ann in Maine. For Jane, it is a heavy blow, as the regional railway company Eastern & Portland Railroad, a consignment Hummer not extradite on time and thereby losing its best customers.
Together with his friend, lawyer George Denham she takes action against the greedy and ruthless new management of the railroad under its chairman Harry Foster Malone. When the railway company refuses to pay their damage claims, Jane can summarily seize one of the trains of the railway company.
Their struggle aroused the interest of the media, and Jane is even invited to perform at TV stations in New York. The public is now riveted on each new move, the Malone Jane opposes, but Jane can not get her down. Finally, Malone ensures that hold in Cape Anne no more moves, among the entire population has to suffer.
Through their newfound fame, there are many orders for the Hummer by Jane. Together with George and the whole village is able to make her settle the attached steam train back on the road in order to deliver the ordered lobster.
After many unsuccessful maneuvers Malone is at the end in small and even helps with himself, to bring the train to its destination on time. During the trip, George Denham Jane confesses his love and she accepts his marriage proposal.
