Ivan Călin

Ivan Calin (Russian: Иван Петрович Калин / Ivan Petrovich Kalin ) ( born March 10, 1935 in Plopi, Rajon Rîbniţa, Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic; † 2, 2012 in Chişinău ) was a politician of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union ( CPSU ) in the Moldavian SSR and the din Republica Moldova Partidul Comuniştilor ( PCRM ) in Moldova.

Life

Professional and political career in the Moldavian SSR

After schooling Calin occurred in 1953, the Red Army and in 1955 a member of the CPSU. After studying agricultural science at the Agronomic Institute Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze in Chisinau, he was in 1960, and Agronomist Vice President and Party Secretary of Organization of the kolkhoz Viata Nouă before he became an instructor in 1963 the Organistionsabteilung of the Central Committee ( CC) of the Moldavian Communist Party. 1965 he was appointed First Secretary of the Communist Party in Calarasi Raion and remained in this position until 1971, where he graduated from 1967-1969 studying at the Party School of the Communist Party in Moscow.

After he was Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Central Committee 1971-1976, he was Secretary of the Central Committee in 1976 and thus belonged to the top party hierarchy in the Communist Party of the Moldavian SSR. In addition, he spent several years as a member of the Central Committee of the Moldavian Communist Party and 1967-1990 deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR.

On April 10, 1980 was his choice as successor to Chiril Iliaşenco as Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR and thus de facto president of the Union Republic. He was also a 1981-1990 member of the CPSU Central Committee, and from 1980 to 1992 deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.

As the successor of Ion Ustian he was finally on December 24, 1985 as Chairman of the Council of Ministers Prime Minister of the Moldavian SSR, and held this post until his replacement on January 10, 1990 Petru Pascari, who already held the post from 1970 to 1976.

For his services in the Moldavian SSR and the USSR, he was honored with the Order of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

Political career in the Republic of Moldova

At the end of the Soviet Union in 1990 he was graduated from the Diplomatic Academy in Moscow and then to 1995, Counsellor at the Embassy in Romania in April.

He then became involved in politics, founded on August 27, 1991 Republic of Moldova and was first elected as a candidate of the PCMR in the elections on 22 March 1998 as a deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, where he remained until 2010. After the parliamentary elections of 29 July 2009 Calin was, who was also a member of the Central Committee of the PCMR, interim president of the inaugural session of the Parliament on August 28, 2009.
