Ivan Engler (surgeon)

Ivan Engler ( born June 13, 1931 in Trenčín, Czechoslovakia) is an Austrian- Slovakian surgeon and writer.

Life

His father Paul Engler was the district doctor, his mother Anna Kontšek born an artist. In 1949 he graduated in Prešov and his doctorate in 1955 MUDr. at the University of MF P. J. Šafárik, Košice, Slovakia. He then worked as a microbiologist in the research of genital tuberculosis. From 1957, training as a specialist in Bratislava, Brno and Vienna, while he. In the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Neurochirurchie MF Univ Comenius worked in Bratislava. In 1963 he was appointed the youngest full professor there for Traumatology in the former Czechoslovakia. In 1965 he fled because of the Persecution to possess without a pass. In Austria, he was recognized as a political refugee. In 1968 he received the Austrian citizenship and received his doctorate from the MF Univ. Vienna Dr. med univ

1965-1969 he worked in the Lorenz Böhler Emergency Hospital Vienna. In 1969, he headed the Emergency Hospital Dr. Gut in St. Moritz, Switzerland. As captain of the Austrian army in 1970, he headed the surgical department of the UN field hospital in Nicosia, Cyprus. 1973-1977 he was senior physician at Rehabilitation Center AUVA in Bad Häring. When a car accident in 1977, he suffered a cervical spine injury and could no longer work as a surgeon. After training in various natural therapies in Germany, China, Taiwan and India, he led from 1978 to 1995 in Salzburg, a private practice, where he also worked with various methods of oxygen application. In 1981 he was elected head of the Medical Research for Naturheilverfahrung eV in Salzburg.

After democratization in Slovakia in 1990 he was the Universitäslektor at the Institute of Biology and Parasitology, MF Comenius Univ. Bratislava appointed and received at the same time the status of a foreign Slovaks. On the MF Univ. PJŠafarik in Košice, he reached the Philosophiae Doctor PhD in 2005. In 2006 he was appointed at the Institute of Physiology, Associate Professor.

Since the youth Ivo Engler was literary activities. The travel reports and the stories of him were published in several newspapers, etc. For example Kulturny Život, Smena, Tiroler Tageszeitung, Salzburger Nachrichten. His plays have been broadcast in the Slovak Radio and Slovak Television in.

Engler is a divorced father of two children.

Awards

  • The radio play "Who is guilty? " Was awarded in 1960 in Bratislava as the best of the year.
  • United Nations Medal for Peace, 1970.
  • Collective Nobel Prize for Peace for the UN units in 1988.
  • Honorary Member of the Slovak biological society - Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava, 1990.

Treatment with ionized oxygen

Engler founded in 1980 a method of treatment with oxygen, which he called Ionized oxygen therapy, also ionized oxygen therapy (sic! ) or IO2Th/Engler. Here are defined mixtures are produced from medical oxygen with either negative or positive oxygen ions from a specially designed device and fed to the body, which should cause a variety of therapeutic effects. Resilient scientific data on the effects do not exist, the costs are not covered by health insurance.
