Ivar Ulekleiv

Ivar Michal Ulekleiv ( May 22nd, 1966 in Dombås ) is a former Norwegian biathlete.

Ivar Ulekleiv of Dovre Skiskytterlag launched since the 1988/89 season at the Biathlon World Cup. Even in his first season he won as a 21 sprints in Steinkjer first World Cup points. In the Biathlon World Championships 1991 in Lahti, he won together with Sverre Istad, Jon Åge Tyldum and Frode Løberg with the team behind Italy Norway a silver medal. His best seasons had the Norwegians in 1992/93 and 1993/94, where he was 41st and 48th overall. In 1993, Ulekleiv in Borovets again at world championships and was 21 of the sprint. He failed to qualify for the domestic Olympic Winter Games in 1994 in Lillehammer, where he finished 14th of the sprint and with Ole Einar Bjørndalen Halvard Hanevold and Jon Åge Tyldum seventh of the season race. Shortly before the Games he reached seventh place in a sprint in Ruhpolding also his best World Cup result.

National championship Ulekleiv won nine medals from 1987 until 1995. In 1992 he won in Skrautvål with Ola Staxrud, Sylfest Glimsdal and Geir Einang as the representative of Oppland region with the title of the season. A year later he won at the championships in Brumunddal and Hattfjelldalen the gold medal in the sprint race.
