Jabłonowo Pomorskie ( German Jablonowo, 1903 Goßlershausen ) is a town in Poland in the Kujawsko - Pomerania.

Geography

Geographical location

Jabłonowo Pomorskie is located about 80 kilometers north-east of Bydgoszcz, and 55 km north-east of Toruń. The capital Warsaw is located about 180 kilometers southeast of the city.

History

A settlement on the site of the present Jabłonowo Pomorskie has been known since 1222.

In the first partition of Poland in 1772 was the place part of Prussia. 1807 to 1815 the town was part of the Duchy of Warsaw and then fell back to Prussia. Today's Jabłonowo Pomorskie was built in 1903 from the merger of the two communities Jablonowo and Sadlinki ( Sadlinken ), the new community was renamed after the recently deceased Oberpräsident in Goßlershausen.

After the First World War Jabłonowo Pomorskie in 1920 became part of the revived Poland. During the Second World War the town was occupied by the Wehrmacht. In 1954, the place the status of a settlement, the city was chartered Jabłonowo Pomorskie 1962.

Primary school

The first school building in the town was built in 1900. Shortly thereafter, this was expanded to its present building 2. The school was first zweiklassig, but was vierklassig soon after its launch. In September 1954, the school was reopened as an elementary school, a year later a sports hall was set up in the premises of the library today. On May 27, 1978, the school was named after Janusz Kusocinski. On May 27, 1982, a new sports hall was passed. The school is called SzkoĹ Podstawowa in today. Traffic

Through the city leads the Province Road 543, which leads west to Radzyń Chełmiński and southeast to Brodnica.

The Polish railway company Polskie Koleje Państwowe offers direct to Toruń and Iława.

The nearest international airport is the Ignacy Paderewski -Jan- Airport Bydgoszcz, where about 85 kilometers southwest of Jabłonowo Pomorskie is located. The significant Frédéric Chopin Airport Warsaw is located 180 km to the southeast.
