Jack Chertok

Jack Chertok ( born July 13, 1906 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, † 14 June 1995 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American film and television producer.

Biography

Mid-1930s, Jack Chertok began work at Metro -Goldwyn- Mayer and began producing short films. Chertok was not specified in these films to one genre, he produced comedies, documentaries and detective stories. He took over the production for a variety of films of the Crime Does Not Pay series. After the MGM had the comedy series The Little Rascals Hal Roach taken, Chertok was also active in these short films.

His biggest success Jack Chertok already with his fourth short film How to Sleep, for which he won the 1936 Oscar for Best Short Film.

From 1941 he was also a producer for feature-length films worked (including the track in the dark, The corn is green, bloody snow). There remained only eleven he produced feature films before 1949 for the medium changed television. Until his resignation from the film business in 1966, he worked exclusively for television and produced there next TV films episodes for TV series, such as The Texas Rangers and My Favorite Martian.
