Action

A human -looking alien from the planet Mars makes his spaceship crash-lands near Los Angeles. He is stranded on Earth. Tim O'Hara, a young newspaper reporter is on the way from Edwards Air Force Base, where he wrote a report on the flight of X-15, back to Los Angeles when he sees the spaceship crash.

Tim helps the Martians, and takes him home, where he claims him as his Uncle Martin. Outwardly Martin pretends to be a normal person, only Tim knows of its origin and its various special abilities, such as two extendable antennas, telepathic powers, the ability to speak with animals or to let things float by means of finger pointing.

In several episodes Martin builds special equipment, such as a time machine which transports and Tim Martin in several episodes to exotic places like the old England or the Wild West. The episode "When You Get Back Home to Mars, Are You Going To Get It " ( " Another one from Mars " ) was filmed as the last episode and led Uncle Martin's Martian nephew Andromeda "Andy" new one. In the U.S., the episodes were not broadcast in production order, so the audience why Andy appeared in episode 99, but disappeared resulted in 100 without explanation wondered. Andy should be as a regular character in the planned fourth season there. The fourth season has not been rotated. Some scenarios of the planned fourth season have been rewritten for the animated series by Filmation, and Andy was of course too. ZDF did not make the same mistake as the Americans and sent the episode " Another one from Mars " as a last episode of the live action series, so that there was a reasonable transition to the animated series.
