Jacob Korevaar (born 25 January 1923 in Neth ) is a Dutch- American mathematician who deals with Analysis.

Korevaar 1949 at Hendrik Kloosterman at Leiden University, PhD ( Approximation and Interpolation Applied to Entire functions). 1944 to 1946 he was an assistant in mathematics at the TU Delft. 1947 to 1949 he was at the newly founded Mathematisch Centrum in Amsterdam and from 1951 to 1953 professor at the TU Delft. In 1953 he became an assistant professor and later professor at the University of Wisconsin and from 1964 he was a professor at the University of California, San Diego, where he was Chairman from 1971 to 1973 the mathematics faculty. In 1974 he was again a professor at the University of Amsterdam, where he was director of the Mathematical Institute in 1980.

He dealt with complex analysis, Tauber- sets, approximations, Fourier analysis and distributions. In 1989 he received the Chauvenet Prize. The paper also received the 1987 Lester Randolph Ford Award.

He is a U.S. citizen. Korevaar is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 1978 he became an honorary doctorate from the University of Gothenburg.
