Jacob Schick

Jacob Schick ( born September 16, 1877 in Ottumwa, † July 3, 1937 in Montreal ) was an American inventor and entrepreneur. He held several patents for razors. His most important invention is the electric shaver 1923.

After he had created a large part of its assets in the Bahamas, threatened an investigation by the tax evasion Committee of the U.S. Congress. Send eluded by 1935 he moved to Canada and took Canadian citizenship. There he died of complications after a kidney operation. He is survived by his wife, Florence Leavitt Schick Stedman and two daughters.
