Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu

Jade Cocoon: The Tamamayu Legend (Japanese玉 茧 物语, Tamamayu Monogatari ) is a 1998 video game developed by Genki for the Playstation. An English version was published in the same year by Crave Entertainment for America, the European version of Ubisoft came only in 1999 on the market. This is a role playing game with a typical Pokemon games collection element. On the aesthetic design and animations Katsuya Kondō and other artists of the anime studio Ghibli were involved with which Genki was connected prior to this project for a long time. It has a melancholy atmosphere that is created by tragic scenarios, the orchestral accompaniment, an epic story and illustration. With around ten hours of actual game time, the game is relatively short.

Gameplay

The heavily forested world in which Jade Cocoon plays, is inhabited mainly by people in addition to the unusual, beetle -like creature. 2001 Jade Cocoon 2 (玉 茧 物语2, Tamamayu Monogatari 2) was released for the Playstation 2. Also this part was not published until a year later in Europe.

The game plays for a long time after the first Cocoon Master is no longer there, and the main hero of the first game, Levant, is now part of the new generation of fighters, the Beast Hunters.
