The Jade College is a state college in the northwestern Lower Saxony with study sites in Wilhelmshaven, Oldenburg and Elsfleth. The university offers 40 degree programs in six departments and has approximately 6,700 enrolled students and 500 faculty and staff. The Jade University sees itself as a modern university with a focus on maritime engineering and economics degree programs.

History

The Jade University was established on 1 September 2009. It emerged from the former University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg / Ostfriesland / Wilhelmshaven.
