Jakab Cseszneky

Baron Jakab Cseszneky de Csesznek et Viscosity was a Hungarian aristocrat of the 13th century. Jakab was the son of Mihály, a member of the clan Bana and equerry of Andrew II.

He was the sword-bearer of King Béla IV and received the title of Count of Trenčín. About 1263 he built the famous Gothic castle in Csesznek in the Bakony. He and his descendants were so named after the castle: Cseszneky

Jakab wife was the daughter of Márk Trencséni, a member of Csák clan. His sons, Miklós, Lőrincz, Szomor and Mihály were significant supporters of King Ladislaus IV and Charles I.
