Jakob Heilmann

Jakob Heilmann ( born August 21, 1846 in Geiselbach ( Lower Franconia ), † February 15, 1927 in Munich) was a German contractor.

Life

The son of a glazier Heilmann attended the Baugewerkschule Munich and passed the age of 19 the final examination. Attending, a semester at the Polytechnic in Zurich, where he was employed as a technician at Bahnhofbau. After a short period in Aschaffenburg, he went to Berlin to further training in the studio of the master Schinkel student Martin Gropius and at the Berlin Academy of Architecture.

Around 1868 he returned to Bavaria and devoted himself to the railroad, first as an employee ( South Station Ostbahnhof in Munich, Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz). From the year 1871, which is therefore regarded as the birth year of the Baugeschäftes J. Heilmann, he built railway lines on their own account ( Oberstraubing - Koefering - Eggmühl, Warngau - Schaftlach - Reichersbeuern - Tolz, Vilseck - willows, Nördlingen - Dinkelsbühl ).

In 1877 he settled in Munich and was devoted to the building construction. 1892 joined his son Max Littmann in the construction business, so that the general partnership ( oHG ) Heilmann & Littmann arose, which was later converted into a limited liability company ( GmbH). The real estate business was supervised by the Heilmann'sche Real Estate Company Ltd and diverse terrain societies.

The company was particularly in a family house and villa construction works, including the Munich districts Gern, Bogenhausen Solln and Prince Ludwig height.

Splendor and large buildings of Heilmann & Littmann were in Munich, the Schack Gallery, the Prince Regent Theatre, the publishing house of Munich Latest News, the Hofbräuhaus - new construction, as well as various spa and department stores. The founding of the electricity provider Isarwerke GmbH goes back to Jakob Heilmann.

Following the departure of partner Max Littmann and Richard Reverdy 1908 and 1909 came his sons Albert and Otto in the construction company, Jakob Heilmann only difference from when he died in 1927.
