The scallop top (Italian Cima di San Giacomo ) is at an altitude of 2741 meters, the fourth highest peak in the Alps and the highest Sarntaler of Ostkamms this group. The mountain is located northeast of Durnholzer lake. The north -lying, somewhat lower daily Horn ( 2708 m asl ) is the Flaggerscharte ( 2436 m slm ) separately.

First ascent

It is likely that the peak Jacob was entered very early by people, possibly by shepherds or chamois hunters. The first documented ascent was the so-called tourist 1880 by Julius Pock, which boasts some first ascents in the Alps Sarntaler, and Ludwig Purtscheller, one was for this summit from 1700 ascents.

Routes

The scallop lace is quite easy to climb. As a base to offer the Flaggerschartenhütte (also Marburger hut, 2481 m slm ). To situated near the hut Flaggerscharte you can either from the west, come from Durnholzer lake, in about 2 ½ to 3 hours, or east of Mittenwald by the Flaggertal in about 5 hours.

From the Flaggerschartenhütte the marked trail leads southward over boulders and rocks to the summit, the towering peak in the comb Lorenz is bypassed west side. From the hut to the summit can be reached in about an hour.
