James Broselow

James Broselow ( born January 12, 1943 in Woodbury, USA) is an American emergency physician, lecturer, inventor and entrepreneur.

Life

He and his colleague Robert Luten emergency are known in medical circles for inventing the Broselow pediatric emergency tape in 1985, a popular resource for pediatric emergency medicine.

Currently Broselow Chief Medical Officer is the eBroselow GmbH, which he co-founded in 2009, and which produces an electronic medication dosage and tracking system for emergency medical services and emergency department. Broselow holds an associate professor of emergency medicine at the College of Medicine of the University of Florida. Broselow lives with his wife in Hickory.

Early years

Broselow was born in Woodbury, New Jersey. He grew up in Franklinville, New Jersey, on, completed basic studies in economics in 1965 from Dartmouth College and received his medical degree in 1969 at the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. After graduating from medical school Broselow received his license as a physician and began a private practice in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Through his work in private practice he began to take an interest in emergency medicine and pulled in 1980 to North Carolina, where he practiced emergency medicine at three community hospitals: Lincoln County Hospital, Cleveland Memorial and Catawba Valley Medical Center. In 2006 he withdrew from the clinical activity.

Inventions and entrepreneurial work

Broselow holds twelve patents on its behalf in connection with the emergency treatment of children.

Awards and Recognition

In 2012, Broselow the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute for Safe Medication Practices ( ISMP ) received.
