James George Philp

James George Philp (* 1816 in Falmouth, Cornwall, † April 11, 1885 ) was an English landscape painter and lived in Falmouth.

Life

Philps pictures were taken almost exclusively in Devon and Cornwall, where he developed a special fondness for coastal views. His first exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts works were in oil, but otherwise dominated the watercolor painting.
