James Glennon

James Michael Glennon ( born August 29, 1942 in Los Angeles, California, † 19 October 2006 ) was an American cinematographer.

Life

James Michael Glennon was born the son of the screenplay consultant Mary Coleman and the cameraman Bert Glennon in Los Angeles, California. Against the will of his father Glennon studied film at UCLA. In 1968 he began his career in the postal sector by Warner Bros. He also happens to the studio founder Jack L. Warner personally his post and received from him the advice to to buy a camera in order to rent it later. This he himself came with the camera being in contact and was able to participate in the 1977 Canadian documentary Jaws of Death as a cameraman while he assisted plus other cameramen parallel in other films. Since then, he was responsible for movies such as The Flight of the Navigator, Election and About Schmidt as a cameraman.

For his contribution to the television series Deadwood Glennon in 2005 won an Emmy Award.

Glennon died on 19 October 2006 at the Cedars -Sinai Medical Center from complications of his prostate disease. Until his death he was married to Charmaine Witus, whom he married in 1977 and with whom he had four children together, including the actress Meghan Glennon.
