James H. Graham

James Harper Graham ( born September 18, 1812 in Bovina, New York, † June 23, 1881 in Delhi, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1859 and 1861 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

James Harper Graham was born during the British - American War in Bovina Delaware County. He attended public schools. Then he was supervisor in the Town of Delhi. He chairs the Board of Supervisors of Delaware County. Then he went to agricultural activities. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1858 for the 36th congress Graham was in the 19th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Oliver A. Morse on March 4, 1859. Since he gave up for reelection in 1860, he retired after March 3, 1861 from the Congress.

He sat in 1871 in the New York State Assembly and in the years 1872 and 1873 in the Senate from New York. In addition, he went to agricultural and commercial transactions. On June 23, 1881, he died in Delhi and was then buried in the Woodland Cemetery.
