James Kennedy (bishop)

James Kennedy (English James Kennedy; gäl.: Seumas Ceanadach; * to 1408, † May 24, 1465 ) was a Scottish bishop in the 15th century. 1437/38 he was appointed Bishop of Dunkeld, in 1440 he was appointed Bishop of St Andrews. He founded St. Salvator 's College, University of St Andrews. Even the Grey Friars Monastery in St. Andrews goes back to him, it was founded shortly after 1458. He was a passenger and cargo ship called Saint Salvator build that was used to 1472.
