James McGolrick

James McGolrick ( born May 1, 1841 in Borrisokane, County Tipperary, Ireland; † January 23, 1918 in Duluth, Minnesota, USA) was bishop of Duluth.

Life

James McGolrick attended All Hallows College, Dublin. He received on June 11, 1867 by the Bishop of Kerry, David Moriarty, the sacrament of Holy Orders. From 1868 to 1889 was James McGolrick pastor of Immaculate Conception.

On November 29, 1889, he was named Pope Leo XIII. Bishop of Duluth. The Archbishop of Saint Paul, John Ireland, donated to him on 27 December of the same year in the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul Episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Sioux Falls, Martin Marty, OSB, and the Bishop Emeritus of Saint Paul, Thomas Langdon Grace OP.
