James O. McKinsey

James Oscar McKinsey ( June 4, 1889 in Gamma, Missouri, † November 30, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois) is the founder of the eponymous consulting firm McKinsey & Company, Inc..

McKinsey initially acquired in 1912 with a Bachelor of Pedagogy, but gave up his goal to become a teacher, quickly to. The Bachelor of Law followed at the University of Arkansas (1913 ) and the Bachelor of Philosophy at the University of Chicago ( 1916).

My first professional experience was gained at the law firm of Frazer & Torbet, by the way, he taught accounting at the University of Chicago.

In 1926 he founded his own company with the aim to advise the company management, instead of offering only the accounting records or to clarify tax issues. He developed this own analysis tools and concepts.

In 1935, he left McKinsey and joined the board of Marshall Field & Company. On November 30, 1937, he died in Chicago of pneumonia.
